Fouad Street, now officially called Horreya Avenue, is a historic street stretching for several kilometers through the heart of Alexandria. The street was established when Alexander the Great founded the city. It was once known as Canopic Street. Later on, it was named after King Fouad I

The avenue has witnessed centuries of history. Therefore, it boasts a unique blend of architectural styles. Fouad Street is lined with many shops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas, and historical landmarks.

It is home to many museums, such as the Alexandria National Museum, the Greco-Roman Museum, and the Cavafy Museum. It has art galleries, Mosques, and the famous colorful stairs of Kom El-Dikka. What's more, it holds many cultural places like Jeswit, the music school of the Conservatoire, and El Horreya Center for Creation.
