Fouad Street, now officially called Horreya Avenue, is a historic street stretching for several kilometers through the heart of Alexandria. The street was established when Alexander the Great founded the city. It was once known as Canopic Street. Later on, it was named after King Fouad I

Moreover, it is home to the famous Alexandria Opera House (Sayed Darwish Theatre)
