The Garden is also called Kitchener's Island, as it is located on an island of the same name in Aswan, west of Elephantine Island.

The Aswan Botanical Garden is filled with lush greenery and exotic plant species from around the world. This includes bamboo, palm trees, cacti, tropical fruit trees, and many more species. The island’s transformation into a botanical paradise was the work of Lord Kitchener, who wanted to create a place of beauty and tranquility. Visitors can wander along shaded paths, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and spot various bird species while taking in the magnificent views of the Nile River. The garden also has an artificial lake, a small museum, and a cafe. It makes a great day trip and can be visited alongside other Aswan sites, such as Elephantine Island, the Temple of Philae, and the Aswan Dam.
